Welcome back to Renew Inspiration! This has been a long and sad week! Not only are we still in the midst of a pandemic that continues to take lives each and every day, but now we also have race driven protests all over the United States of America speaking out against police brutality. It’s a shame that in 2020, African Americans are still asking to be free from bondage and wanting others to know that #BLACK LIVES MATTER. More importantly, #ALL LIVES MATTER. As a wife, a mother, sister, and aunt of African American males, I pray every day that my husband, sons, brother, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends, and neighbors make it home alive. This is my reality that I am forced to live with and it is not fair. Sometimes we have to fully surrender our desires and trust that the universe (not man) has our back. I believe there has to be a Higher Power that will help us overcome this vicious cycle. Keep in mind, though these times may be difficult, we must find ways to stay motivated and continue to demand EQUALITY for ALL!

If you’re anything like me lately, it’s difficult to stay motivated while working from home, making sure my children are doing online assignments, running errands, listening to the daily news for pandemic & protest updates, all while trying to keep my family safe.

Below you will find some practical ways to help you stay motivated:

• Link your core values to your daily motivation.

• Let action peak your motivation during difficult times.

• Set schedules and rituals for taking action. Then, stick to them.

• Keep moving forward even when the motivation fades away.

• Set daily goals or use a daily to-do list to help keep you on track.

• Prioritize your mental health by practicing meditation or speaking with a licensed health professional.

• Practice kindness and gratitude throughout your day.

LIFE CHANGING AFFIRMATIONS

Your life is as good as your mindset. – Unknown Author

Each day when I wake up, I speak life changing words into my life. Every day I make it a point to grow closer to my highest self. Sometimes you have to be your own cheerleader and encourage life into your very being. It’s important to know that your ability to conquer your challenges in life are limitless and your potential to succeed is infinite.

Here’s a few of my favorite life changing affirmations:

• I accept myself just as I am.

• I am healthy, whole, and complete.

• I am light, love, kindness, peace, and joy.

• I love myself deeply and unconditionally.

• I am beautiful inside and out.

• I am radiant, divine, and I am enough.

• I am devoted to creating my best life.

• I am powerful and unstoppable.

• I am grateful for increased insight and opportunity to make better choices.

• I am confident and capable of reaching all my goals/dreams.

• I am a blazing potential for greatness.

• I believe in the person I dream of becoming.

• I manifest miracles in my life every day.

• My body is strong, my mind is brilliant, and my soul is fulfilled.

Despite everything going on around me, I continue to believe that amazing opportunities exist for me in every aspect of my life. My heart is filled with gratitude for all that I have and all that is yet to come. I continue to live off of my powerful and positive energy each day. I choose to put my mind on greatness, success and learning how to overcome barriers that exist in our society, in our free nation, in America. I live my truth unapologetically and I inspire others to do the same.

JOURNAL PROMPTS

Strive for progress, not perfection. – Unknown Author

I love journaling because it is a safe place for me to put my feelings and emotions into words, then put my words into action. Remember, journaling is your very own personal journey throughout life, your ups and downs, your successes and failures. In addition, journaling is a powerful way to process events in your life, build self-awareness, get more clarity, and keep yourself on track. Journaling also allows for past reflection, future insight, and present surrender. Keep in mind that this is a journey. Everyone takes their own path. Ready, set, write!

• Do you feel motivated during this pandemic?

• What are some ways you plan to stay motivated during this difficult time?

• How do you feel about the various protests that are happening all around us?

• What are some of your struggles during this difficult time?

• How have you been holding yourself back?

• How can you begin taking steps forward during your journey?

• What matters most to you right now in this moment?

  1. Thank you, Latisha – It has been so difficult to be motivated lately, so this post came at the right time for me. The pandemic is fading into the background and the racism has saddened me to the point where the tears were just running down my face today. There needs to be so much change in this country. I am learning so much by reading and listening as there is so much to the history that I did not know. I am trying to do my part and have written about it a bunch of times over the last two years. Most importantly, I raised my kids to get out there and make a difference and they are! I am light, love, kindness, peace, and joy … beautiful! Thank you again.
